Winter dryness doesn’t just affect skin on the outside — hydration and nourishment from within matter just as much. Coconut, when used thoughtfully and in small amounts, can help support skin, coat, and digestion during the colder months.
Coconut oil is rich and warming, making it best suited for occasional treats rather than daily snacks. Paired with yogurt, it becomes a comforting, winter-appropriate enrichment option that many dogs love.
🥥 Coconut Comfort Treat Recipe
½ cup plain, unsweetened yogurt (or goat milk yogurt)
1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil (melted)
Optional: 1 tablespoon finely ground oats for texture
Instructions
Gently melt the coconut oil until liquid (not hot).
Stir coconut oil into the yogurt until well blended.
Mix in oats if using.
Spoon into silicone molds or spread lightly on a lick mat.
Freeze for 2–3 hours until set.
Serving Tips
Coconut is rich — small portions only
1–2 treats are plenty for most dogs
Great for dogs experiencing winter dryness
Comfort foods aren’t just for people. Sometimes dogs need a little extra nourishment too.
