☀️ Summer is Here… and So Are the Uninvited Guests 🦠🐾

Ahhh summer… sunshine, fresh air, muddy paws, and… internal parasites 🙃
Not exactly the seasonal vibe we’re going for—but every year like clockwork, they show up ready to crash the party.
At Paisley’s Posh Paws, we see it all—happy pups enjoying the outdoors… and sometimes bringing home a little extra with them. So let’s talk about it in a way that’s honest, a little lighthearted, but still very important.
🐛 The Not-So-Cute Truth
Worms might live inside your dog, but their eggs don’t stay there.
They can end up:
On your dog’s fur
Around the tail area
On paws, bedding, and surfaces
And here’s where things get… less cute.
💨 The Dryer Situation (aka The “Nope” Factor)
Our professional dryers are amazing for getting your pup fluffy and fresh…
…but they are also powerful enough to:
Blow microscopic eggs into the air
Spread them onto grooming tools and equipment
Potentially expose other dogs
So while your pup is getting a spa day, those tiny hitchhikers could be going on a tour of the salon 😬
Hard no.
⏳ “But They Just Started Treatment!”
We hear this a lot—and we totally get it. You’re doing the right thing getting your pup treated! 💜
But here’s the catch:
Starting treatment ≠ being in the clear.
Even after medication begins:
Eggs can still be shed
The parasite life cycle is still active
Reinfection is still possible
Which means your pup can still unknowingly spread parasites during grooming.
✅ The Gold Standard: Fully Treated + Negative Fecal
Before we can safely groom, we require:
✔️ Completed deworming treatment ✔️ A negative fecal test from your vet
That’s the point where we know:
The cycle is broken
Egg shedding has stopped
Your pup (and everyone else) is safe
🐶 Why We’re So Strict About This
We’re not just thinking about one dog—we’re thinking about every dog in our care:
Tiny puppies
Senior pups
Sensitive, anxious, or medically fragile dogs
Our entire environment is designed to be:✨ Calm✨ Clean✨ Safe
Allowing parasites into that space? That goes against everything we stand for.
💜 Real Talk
We are not judging—parasites happen.Dogs are dogs. They sniff things… eat things… roll in things they definitely shouldn’t 🙃
But our job is to keep the salon safe and sanitary, and sometimes that means saying:
👉 “Let’s wait just a little longer.”
🛁 The Good News!
Once your pup is:✔️ Fully treated✔️ Vet-cleared with a negative fecal
We are READY to:✨ De-shed✨ Detox that coat✨ Get them fresh, clean, and feeling amazing again
☀️ Final Thought
Enjoy the sunshine, the walks, the adventures…
Just maybe keep an eye on those extra little summer souvenirs your pup might pick up along the way 🐛😅
